Having a commission created to reflect your unique style and space is such a special way to bring colour and light to your life. Do you have a special gift you'd like to give? Or a space in your home crying out for some brightness? A commission is the perfect way to go if you have something special in mind or a specific size to work with.
But how does the process work? Below I've gathered a brief FAQ that I hope will answer most of your questions about the process and give you a good idea of what to expect.
Q: What do you need from me, the client?
A: I work from colour and energy inspiration, so pictures of the space you are planning to place your piece in are incredibly helpful. If you're not sure where your piece will live, or if its a gift, tell me stories about yourself/the giftee! The colours you are drawn to/the colours that make you happy - this is what we will work together on.
Q: How does the process work?
A: Each custom process is unique and a little bit different - but generally we chat over email/zoom at your preference to kick off the process and decide on scale first. After we've confirmed a colour palette, I will create a few pieces for you to make your final choices!
Q: What are your prices for commissions?
A: Commission pricing stays fairly consistent with the pricing you see on my website and Etsy Shops. There are some exceptions if new explorations or specific materials are involved. I have a zero-risk policy on pieces below 30x30", but pieces larger than this require a 50% non-refundable deposit once the final composition has been agreed upon.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: This depends largely on what your commission project is. If its a custom Homeware project, completion is likely two weeks. If its a fine art project, you can expect your project to take approximately 3-6 weeks.
Q: So how do I start?
A: I would love to work with you!! Send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get chatting about your piece!
